1st graders and learning through concrete real-life experiences
The 1st graders have been studying the parts of a house and its furniture. Realia activities are important teaching tools because they help to make learning more tangible and concrete for young children. Realia refers to real-life objects or materials that are used in the classroom to help students understand abstract concepts. This hands-on approach helps to engage students and makes learning more meaningful and memorable.
Realia activities can be particularly useful for students who struggle with traditional forms of learning, such as reading and writing.
By providing concrete experiences these activities can help students’ understanding and engagement. It can help to increase students’ motivation and interest in learning, and they really like it!
