Learning Through Competition: A CLIL Quiz on Politics and History
The 2nd year high school students took part in an exciting and competitive quiz as a closing activity for their English class. The challenge reviewed the content studied through the CLIL methodology (Content and Language Integrated Learning), combining English practice with knowledge about diplomacy, politics, the three branches of government, and important historical events.
Working in teams, the students answered questions about the Legislative, Executive, and Judicial branches, discussed the role of diplomacy in international relations, and reflected on key moments in history. The competitive atmosphere made the activity dynamic and engaging, encouraging collaboration, critical thinking, and active participation.
The quiz was not only a fun way to end the lesson, but also an effective strategy to reinforce content while developing language skills. It was a moment of learning, teamwork, and enthusiasm, showing how meaningful and interactive learning can be when language and real world topics come together.
